Slowly solving things

Hey all,

Well, I finally got a rental car on Monday. They still seem to be in high demand in my area, they have been every since Sandy decided to try and wipe us from the Earth. The first thing I did was to go meet up with my boyfriend and sit down to have a face to face talk and hash everything out. I explained my side of the story, and he explained his. We reached an understanding and decided the best thing to do was to learn from this experience and start over. He was upset because he felt I invaded his privacy, which I admit, it must have looked like I was snooping even though that was not my intention. I explained that whether in jest or not I am not okay with him making up sex stories with his women friends, even if it was just to help keep others from hitting on them. I also told him how I saw his picture as a seductive pose, not just a picture where he was still covered up, and the next time a friend wants a picture like that for a contest they’re running on their blog to respectfully decline, there are plenty of other single guys out there more than willing to do those things. We’re on the mend, and so far things seem to be going well. He adopted a kitten on Tuesday, and playing and taking care of her has also helped to ease the lingering tension between us.

As far as getting a new car goes…I finally heard back from my insurance and got a total car loss amount from them. Now I need to get the title for the car, which is with my father in Louisiana and mail it in to them before I can get it. I’m concerned about how long this could take because he travels a lot for business and I only have my rental car until Monday. I have not found anything I’m interested in buying for a new car yet either, I can’t believe how much car prices have gone up since I last bought one. For example, $5,000 for a car with 98,000+ miles on it? Are you serious? Why, because you decided to sell your car at 2,000 miles under the 100,000 mile mark? Yeah, maybe if you could guarantee me that you took extremely good care of it and I could get another 100,000 miles out of it. I think this weekend I’m going to cruise around Holiday City (seniors only community) and see if there are any cars with for sale signs. Maybe the seniors have a better grasp on what cars are actually worth.

Again, thank you everyone for your support and for putting up with my emotional tirades. I’m usually a very easy going person, but way too much was unexpectedly thrown on my plate last week and I couldn’t handle it as I usually would.
